I’ve been watching almost nothing but Tyler Perry I’ve been watching almost nothing but Tyler Perry movies and shows for the past month, so getting invited to a screening of Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy felt like fate.

I had an incredible time, and it was so nice to actually get to hear Tyler Perry and Shannon Thornton talk about the film and how it came to be. The movie itself is truly joy-filled, and the romance definitely had me giggling and kicking my feet. There was so much emotional depth to the plot too. I’m definitely going to be rewatching soon.

If you want to experience the fun and festive vibes for yourself, check out Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy, now on Prime Video!

Confessions From the Group Chat was my first book Confessions From the Group Chat was my first book by Jodi Meadows, but I definitely plan to check out more of her books. Reading this book was like watching a train wreck about to happen and being powerless to stop it. Realizing someone you thought was your friend actually wasn’t is a canon event for girls I fear, but social media definitely made everything much more volatile in this story.

I truly felt for the main character Virginia because who amongst us hasn’t said something we probably shouldn’t in the group chat. I could not imagine how I would have dealt with the sanctity of the group chat being destroyed though, so it was very interesting watching Virginia navigate that and seeing the support and lack of support she got.

Although the book is full of some captivating drama, it’s also full of hope, forgiveness, and fuzzy feelings that left me hopeful. Even if middle grade isn’t your go-to age category, if you love mess, you’re going to want to check this one out.

🎭Setting the Stage —10/21/25🎭 Setting the Stage w 🎭Setting the Stage —10/21/25🎭

Setting the Stage was nostalgia central. I went to a small private school in middle school, so we didn’t have a theater program, but this book was my high school theater experience to a T from the canoodling to the pranks to the unappreciation of crew by the cast to the hierarchy to the stress of tech week. My best friend was stage manager, and Ella’s experience was similar to her own in some ways.

I really enjoyed getting to see different perspectives of the crew members, and while this book will be great for theater lovers, I also think kids who have no experience with theater but are curious will find it eye-opening, and it might even tempt them to get involved themselves. One of us! One of us!

Another highlight of the book was that the kids all had real things happening in their lives that affected how they showed up for the actual show. Having to take care of siblings. Dealing with the pull between a foster and birth family. Adjusting to a new town. Crushes gone wrong and right.

I’m waiting eagerly for book two because I need to know what happens with the show.

🪩 Boom Town —10/14/25🪩 Thank you @simonbooks #Sim 🪩 Boom Town —10/14/25🪩

Thank you @simonbooks #SimonBooksBuddy for the free copy. All opinions are my own. 🫶🏼

Besides her story in Blackout, Boom Town was my first Nic Stone book. It was a very quick read, and I enjoyed the fast pacing, especially because the plot had me on the edge, and I needed to get to the bottom of everything. Most of the characters were villains in their own way, but some were way worse than others, and I liked seeing that complexity. The way the storylines intersected blew my mind, and I never would have guessed how things turned out. It did take me a little bit of time to get adjusted to Lyriq’s voice though. I watched Beauty in Black while reading this, and it was actually kind of the perfect pairing, as both highlighted the power and pitfalls of the adult entertainment industry. I hope Nic Stone has more adult books in the work because I’d read another.

Thanks so much to @simonteen for sending me The Pe Thanks so much to @simonteen for sending me The Perks of Being a Wallflower paperback anniversary edition 🥹 This is one of my favorite books and adaptations, so y’all don’t understand how much I’m screaming on the inside.

It’s a faux letter-bound collector’s edition, and I just love how small it is. It also looks great next to my 20th anniversary edition of Perks 🤍 The desire to do a reread and rewatch is so intense now.

Fun Fact: When I was an extra in the Dear Evan Hansen movie, which Stephen Chbosky directed, they needed music to play during one of the dance scenes and Come on Eileen was the first song that played. Iconic behavior.

Welcome to my tour stop for the #WhenTheWorldTipsO Welcome to my tour stop for the #WhenTheWorldTipsOverTour with @coloredpagesbt! Swipe to see some of the quotes that stayed with me 🌎

When the World Tips Over was wholly unique, strange in every way, and everything I could have wanted. I would love to spend a week in Jandy Nelson’s brain because the way she’s able to create such imaginative and moving books amazes me every time. This book was over 500 pages, and I could have moved in. I never wanted to leave the Fall siblings and the magic of Paradise Springs. I love mixed media and the fact there were newspaper clippings, emails, diary entries, and stories really added to the magic. But I especially love books where everything is connected in ways you never could have imagined and yet you couldn’t imagine them not being that way. Miles’ POV was my favorite, but I loved learning about Cassidy’s betrayals the most. There wasn’t a character I wasn’t drawn to though.

This is truly a book you just have to buckle in for because the description doesn’t even scratch the surface of all there is to find in this book. The harshness of friendship breakups. Talking dogs. Ms. Mary Mack. Cain and Abel. Giants. Twists galore. Abandonment. It was an emotional rollercoaster that made me want to get in line again. I would recommend checking this one out for yourself because it definitely made my world tip over.
