Thanks so much to @simonteen for sending me The Pe Thanks so much to @simonteen for sending me The Perks of Being a Wallflower paperback anniversary edition 🥹 This is one of my favorite books and adaptations, so y’all don’t understand how much I’m screaming on the inside.

It’s a faux letter-bound collector’s edition, and I just love how small it is. It also looks great next to my 20th anniversary edition of Perks 🤍 The desire to do a reread and rewatch is so intense now.

Fun Fact: When I was an extra in the Dear Evan Hansen movie, which Stephen Chbosky directed, they needed music to play during one of the dance scenes and Come on Eileen was the first song that played. Iconic behavior.

Welcome to my tour stop for the #WhenTheWorldTipsO Welcome to my tour stop for the #WhenTheWorldTipsOverTour with @coloredpagesbt! Swipe to see some of the quotes that stayed with me 🌎

When the World Tips Over was wholly unique, strange in every way, and everything I could have wanted. I would love to spend a week in Jandy Nelson’s brain because the way she’s able to create such imaginative and moving books amazes me every time. This book was over 500 pages, and I could have moved in. I never wanted to leave the Fall siblings and the magic of Paradise Springs. I love mixed media and the fact there were newspaper clippings, emails, diary entries, and stories really added to the magic. But I especially love books where everything is connected in ways you never could have imagined and yet you couldn’t imagine them not being that way. Miles’ POV was my favorite, but I loved learning about Cassidy’s betrayals the most. There wasn’t a character I wasn’t drawn to though.

This is truly a book you just have to buckle in for because the description doesn’t even scratch the surface of all there is to find in this book. The harshness of friendship breakups. Talking dogs. Ms. Mary Mack. Cain and Abel. Giants. Twists galore. Abandonment. It was an emotional rollercoaster that made me want to get in line again. I would recommend checking this one out for yourself because it definitely made my world tip over.

🍁 September Reading Wrap-up 🍁 In what comes 🍁 September Reading Wrap-up 🍁

In what comes as no surprise, I barely got any reading done this month. Was there a reason for this? No, my brain just doesn’t want to read.

I also didn’t make a real September TBR because I wanted to read everything that was on my August TBR, and I read not a one 😩

I have so much I want and need to read, so hopefully I can get it together this October 🤞🏼 If you read anything good in September, let me know! Say It Out Loud was definitely my favorite.

Thank you to @jollyfishpress for letting me be a p Thank you to @jollyfishpress for letting me be a part of this cover reveal for King Coyote by Rachael MeyersJones 🫶🏼 Sounds like it’s going to be such a good one!

The illustrator is Colin Laurel and the designer is Karli Hughes 🤩

Description: Twelve-year-old King has been banished to the Vermont woods for the summer, and there’s nothing he can do about it. As if his parents getting divorced wasn’t bad enough, they’ve shipped him off to his aunt and uncle’s house to protect him like he’s some baby. The only bright side is being reunited with his favorite cousin, Nat, who he hasn’t seen in years.

At first, King wants nothing more than to go home to Boston. There are barely any other Black people in Vermont, the townsfolk are mean to him, and his relatives don’t even have Wi-Fi to play games! But a late-night encounter with a young coyote changes his mind. King develops a bond with the creature, who seems just as lonely and misunderstood as he is. Then King’s uncle calls the local trappers, saying the coyote is a threat to their farm, and King is forced to decide: return home to Boston, or stay and save his new friend?

With the help of Nat, a veteran wilderness explorer and walking wildlife encyclopedia, King scales mountains, faces off against skunks, and sleeps under the stars to find a new home for the coyote—and just maybe, a home for himself, too.

Inspired by her own childhood traipsing through the Vermont wilderness, debut author Rachael MeyersJones brings a fresh take to the classic wilderness survival tale.

✨ Say It Out Loud — 9/30/2025 ✨ Ashley Schu ✨ Say It Out Loud — 9/30/2025 ✨

Ashley Schumacher will always have a fan in me. Just in the prologue alone, I fell in love with Say It Out Loud. And I never had to fear it would fall apart because if there’s one thing Ashley knows how to do, it’s create a compelling and captivating arc that satisfies you in every way. And while the plot was fun, she excels at character. At making you feel. Making you root. Making you love.

There was so much about the story that I enjoyed, especially the audiobook narration elements. It’s so easy to forget how much work goes into narrating an audiobook, and this definitely gave me a new appreciation for everyone involved in that process. There was also the fake dating with real kisses and real feelings that had me practically vibrating. The hopelessness of job hunting and begging for anything to stick. The shared grief and stubbornness of Juniper and James. Their swoony interactions. Perfectly-timed Shrek references. And though I thought I’d make it through without crying, I still managed to sob by the end.

Overall, I loved this one. I should also mention I’ve never read Twilight, and I only saw the movie for the first time two years ago, so I don’t have the same level of knowledge or attachment to the franchise others might have. So if you’re a Twilight fan, you might find this either really nostalgic or heavy-handed in its references. It worked for me though. And though I’m still conflicted on reading the series because of the indigenous rep problems, this does feel like the kind of book that makes you want to dive into a reread or rewatch.

☀️ August Reading Wrap-up☀️ It’s Septem ☀️ August Reading Wrap-up☀️

It’s September, which means it’s time for my August Reading Wrap-up. I didn’t have a lot of reading in me 🥴. At the beginning of August, my mom and I repainted my room, ripped up the carpet and replaced it with vinyl, and I catalogued and rearranged my 1000+ book collection. So, I was wore out after all that. Library tour to come though 🤭

In total, I read eight books in August. This Kind of Trouble was on my July TBR, and none of the books I read were on my August TBR. Oops. Three of the books I read in August were nonfiction, so that’s a win in my book!

Because of that, I’m not posting a September TBR, as I’m going to try the read the same books as the August one. We’ll see how it goes.
