Welcome to BookishEnds!
Hi, I’m Alexia! Helping writers get their stories into the best shape possible is a passion of mine. I’ve been providing literary and author services to writers since 2021 and have worked with over 300 clients on indie published, traditionally published, and personal projects.
I’m here to help you from cover to cover, beginning to the end.
Are you ready for this?
While writing is rewarding, some challenges can occur during the process, like
Writing characters outside of your lived experience
You want to diversify the world of your book, but you’re not a Black writer, so you need help ensuring any biases or stereotypes aren’t unknowingly coming through on the page and that your Black characters are fleshed out.
Needing guaranteed feedback
While it can be a joy for friends and family to offer to read your book, sometimes they can be unreliable, either taking longer to read the book than you need or giving you unactionable and little feedback.
looking to hook readers
You’ve seen the graphics all over Instagram and TikTok of quotes and scenes from other authors’ books, but you feel too close to your book to find the kind of quotes and content that would entice readers.
Following genre conventions
Whether you’re writing a new-to-you genre or just need an outside perspective on a beloved genre, you might need help figuring out what readers are expecting or the tropes common with that genre. Unsure if your romance has the necessary HFN/HEA? Not sure if your fantasy worldbuilding is clear? Want to ensure readers aren’t guessing the killer in the first chapter? Looking to see if your memoir will emotionally resonate?
I understand your Challenges, and here’s Where I Can Help
Guaranteed Feedback
My critiquing style involves giving a mixture of praise and suggestions. I’ll let you know what you’re doing well, while also pointing out areas I think can be smoothed out for the reader. If you want an honest reaction to your writing and actionable feedback, I’m the right choice.
Hooking Quotes
I can read your book and find the quotes and snippets that will pique readers’ curiosity.
Genre Knowledge
As a bookstagrammer and blogger with a voracious reading appetite and who reads a little bit of everything, I’m in tune with the current market and genre conventions.

frequently asked Questions
What genres and age categories will you read?
I read several different genres and all age categories from picture book to adult. I also have no restrictions on subject matter or triggering content.
Genres I’ve worked on: Contemporary, Coming of Age, Erotica, Fantasy (Low, High, Epic, Urban), Gothic, Historical Fiction, Horror, Literary Fiction, Magical Realism, Memoir, Mystery, Nonfiction, Paranormal, Poetry, Romance (Sports, Dark, Paranormal, Why Choose, Omegaverse), Romantic Comedy, Romantasy, Science Fiction, Self-Help, Suspense, Thriller, and Women’s Fiction.
Age categories I’ve worked on: Children’s, Middle Grade, Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult.
Do you only read novels?
No, I accept and have read blog posts, essays, short stories, novellas, and novels. I can also read individual chapters and excerpts from a larger work.
Do you have a word count limit?
No, but depending on the length of the project, my turnaround time might increase.
Will you leave inline comments on my document?
Yes, I leave inline comments on every project I work on. My inline comments highlight the places the feedback in my reader’s report applies to and also show how I’m reacting to your work as a reader. I’m the person talking to the screen while watching a movie, except I’m doing it for your book.
What does your reader’s report entail?
Depending on the genre and content of your work, I will talk about a mixture of structure, plot, dialogue, pacing, worldbuilding, character, and my overall impression. I’ll talk about all the elements you did well and then go into the specific elements that I think need clarification, expansion, or reduction.
What is your preferred document format?
I accept either Microsoft Word or Google Docs. If you wish to send a Google Doc, I ask that you refrain from accepting/rejecting suggestions or resolving comments until after I’ve sent my report to you. For ease of reading, the document should use 12pt font and be double spaced. I also prefer that chapters are navigable in the document by using chapter headings.
Can I send a questionnaire in lieu of receiving a reader’s report?
Yes, I will accept questionnaires with a maximum of 30 questions.
Can I book your services in advance?
Yes, if you’re not ready to send your document but would like to get on my calendar, you can select booking in advance on my inquiry form.
Do you use AI in your services? Can I send you a book I wrote with AI?
No, I don’t use generative AI in my personal life or in my business. I will not feed your book to any AI program or use it to write my report. And no, I will not work on any books that have been written with AI.

– Taylor Lynn
Author of the Crown of Ellova Duology
“Alexia provided wonderful feedback on ways I could make my work stronger, but she also was quick to point out the things she loved about the book. Her inline comments let me know if I was hitting the right emotional beats from a craft perspective while also leaving her own personal commentary which I found endlessly entertaining. You can tell Alexia cares deeply about writing and storytelling as her passion for literature is clear in her Reader’s Report. It was incredibly detailed and highlighted everything she liked in the book while still being clear on what changes would be needed to publish the best possible novel. Alexia lets you know which parts she loved and cheers so loudly for her clients. She has such an amazing eye for the little details and I felt she really understood the story I was telling from the start. I will definitely be hiring Alexia for all future projects. Her commitment to helping writers grow and polishing their stories makes her a fantastic beta reader. She is someone I will always be recommending for anyone needing a sensitivity reader for their Black characters or general feedback on their WIP and I can’t wait to work with her again.”
